Top 10 Saddest Deaths of the Last Century

I feel like I missed out on a New Year's post. I was so sickened by the fact I didn't make a tribute, I felt I had to do something a little dark to sell my apology.
The reason it's century is because there were just some people that I actually cry because they aren't here now, but weren't in a close enough time period.
Enough babbling. Without further ado...
Top 10 Saddest Deaths of the Last Century:
10. Bela Lugosi
Poor guy. Just couldn't catch a break. Drug addict, troubled lifestyle, and worst of all, forced to be in Ed Wood movies. I'll always remember you for Dracula, buddy.
9. Heath Ledger
Why so serious? I'll tell you why. One of the greatest actors of all time passed away. Forget the buzz over The Dark Knight. Just take Heath's masterpieces: 10 Things I Hate About You, Brokeback Mountain, A Knight's Tale. R.I.P., Heath. Hope you're laughing wherever you are.
8. Michael Jackson
Yes, he's on here. Like I couldn't resist. The guy's a legend. What I think is really sad is that the very same people talking shit over him the day before his death are suddenly the biggest fans ever once he's gone. I didn't much like his music save for a few, but you can't deny the musical or societal impact he's had on today's life.
7. John Lennon
A personal hero for generations and one of the richest dead people, the second most widely recognized Beatle was good friends with Paul and had one of the biggest funeral services ever. Sorry Beatles fans. At least you have a great legacy and great music.
6. John Hughes
I mean, how could I not? The guy revolutionized the teen movie genre, created movies that are still popular today, and gave birth to the Brat Pack. For now, just appreciate the great films he's made.
5. Patrick Swayze
AHAHAHA seriously, though, he was a nice guy. Not the greatest actor maybe, but he was in Road House and Point Break, and that's enough for him to be on this list, but he gained this spot purely out of the controversy attained over his death.
4. Charles Addams
The creator of the universally appealing Addams family with a great sense of humor. Unfortunately he died before the release of the movies, but his legacy lives on as well the popular characters created by him.
3. Robert Aldrich
This is the guy who directed The Dirty Dozen and The Longest Yard. He deserves to be here just as much as anyone else for directing some of the greatest movies of all time.
Now, my list might not be the same as everyone else, but these people got here from my personal preference or the sheer impact. Impact influenced most of the above, but the last two will be a bit controversial because they're my opinion. They're also both singers.
2. Bon Scott
AC/DC rocks on forever, but the world it a little less rockin' without this man's singing brilliance. For those about to rock, we salute you; let there be rock; etc. Hopefully he's not on the Highway to Hell.

Kurt Cobain
The lead singer and guitarist of the greatest grunge band ever, Nirvana, who allegedly committed suicide on April 5th, 1994, remains a musical and moral influence on anyone who ever picked up a guitar after. Struggling with heroin and low self-esteem, Kurt was a troubled person. If only he could see the love fans are giving him today. Godspeed, Kurt. We love you, man.

Zombie Apocalypse at Belmont High Intro

I think the main reason I wrote this miniseries was as a metaphor. Middle school is eat or be eaten, hence the zombies. The zombies illustrate the conformity present in middle school, and the conformists eat the individualists until they either die away or join them. Individualists must have the tools to survive it.
But I didn't just write a metaphor. I wrote a warning. A terrible warning of the dangers of cafeteria food.
Nuclear radiation is present in every single thing you purchase from the fat chick in the hair net. They don't mean it, of course-- there's something wrong with the ovens or the fridges, etc.
But always bring your lunch. Even if it means not eating, don't buy the cafeteria food.
Also, be wary of people just going along. They're the worst. Punch them in the face and teach them to think for themselves.
Are you ready for the zombie apocalypse?

"Gee, thanks, DJ!"

Which is what my delicate ears should be hearing for being generous and updating on Turkey Day.
Upcoming events:
More chapters from Evil, beginning Party, and retrospective on the Black Mountain Chronicles. On the right there will be tabs with labels and links, etc.
Beginning a new miniseries called Zombie Apocalypse at Belmont Junior High. Just guess what it's about. Belmont High is based on my old junior high, so expect people I used to/still am friends with to figure heavily, and some of my friends from FearSeekerFiles to play cameos.
Although most or all of my videos probably won't be posted, it's a fact I will be working on some films.
No reviews today, unfortunately, but there will be one tomorrow if I can spare the time.
There will definitely be some tastly articles coming your way, some which have already been written.
And that's it, thanks for playing!

I Have Problems

I am really sorry, but seeing as how my computer is CF'd, we might not be able to post stuff until Christmas. Don't worry, I might fit in a few updates here and there...

Updates Galore!

This has nothing to do with my books. Due to email troubles, I was forced to delete my Webs sites and discontinue my Wordpress site (though it will remain up at least until I can move all my posts from there to here).
So this site will now include DJ Loomis's patented reviews, and my Webs site's articles. Feel free to comment!

Evil: The First Chapter

The New Chapter...
Chapter 1- The Competition
Jack Manson hated buses with a passion. It had started with his horrible experiences on the school bus, and escalated on public buses. Now any kind of public transportation made Jack queasy and filled him with the urge to punch out the lights of the closest person in the vicinity.
And of course, he was being forced to take a bus to Smith's Grove.
Smith's Grove was an amazing mansion, fifty-six stories tall, sprawling a mile, and with acres of woods and wildlife as far as the eye could see. Paradise.
The catch was, Jack had to spend his time with twenty-nine other people. He hated people more than public transportation. In fact, people were the reason he hated public transportation.
The reason Jack was spending his time sharing Smith's Grove with people was that there was a competition going on. Thirty people had won a chance to vacation at Smith's Grove. The one person who stayed longest won a special prize.
Jack, as a matter of fact, had no idea how he managed to find himself competing. For his part, he bought the new issue of Fangoria and the ticket had just fallen into his lap. And he was legally obligated to attend the competition.
Now he was stuck on the bus ride to hell.
The bus driver stopped and let on the bus's second passenger; a tall black girl with frizzy brown hair. She wore a leather jacket and short shorts. Yowza. Jack thought he might forgo his antisocial tendencies to hang out with her.
The girl sat down next to Jack.
After about fifteen silent minutes, Jack stuck out his hand. "Hi."
The girl just stared straight ahead.
"I'm Jack Manson."
"Sheera Alomar."
"Oh. Okay."
There were about six more quiet minutes.
"So... you here for the competition?"
"No shit, Sherlock."
Jack was officially in love.
After a while, Jack gave up his, admittedly lame, attempts to instigate a conversation with Sheera.
Jack hated buses with a passion.

I apologize for the lack of updates, but I've been thinking up ideas for stand-alone novels, and I have a really good one:
It's called Evil. It's about thirty people who are forced to share a gigantic mansion together because they were picked to win a special prize. Whoever actually sticks around longest will eventually win the prize. Unfortunately, an alien egg hatched in the woods near the mansion...
The thing I'll like best about this one is that since it'll be LONG, I can use the entire first half to flesh out the characters, before getting down to my bloody business, as well as being able to have gaps between the deaths.
CHARACTERS:
Jake Manson- A teenager with an incredibly troubled home life. He found his way into the competition by sheer luck. He's considered the underdog, the one who'll get kicked off before everyone else.
Sheera Alomar- A tough chick from the wrong side of the tracks. Despite all the hardness, beneath that she's a normal, sweet girl... but one determined to win.
Scott Grady- A tech geek who lives in the highest point of the entire mansion, from which he can easily terrorize the other inhabitants with his multitude of pranks.
Ferris Bender- A lazy slacker who spends his time being a complete jerk to everyone on premises. However, he has a shrewd, calculating mind, and may well win.
Madison Casablancas- A small, shy girl who believes that she may just have the inner strength to win this competition. Similar to Ferris, she can be cruel, cold and shrewd when she has to.
Dick O'Riley- An energetic, hyperactive adult who acts like an energetic, hyperactive six-year old. Always ready to help Scott in his schemes, Dick can also be quite oblivious.
Sabrina Jones- The oldest of all the contestants, Sabrina has the wisdom of the world on her side. Unfortunately, no one listens to her.
Craig Vincent- A dark, mysterious, and evil-tempered boy who enjoys messing with the other contestants, but in a much eviler way than Scott's (however, he enlists Scott and Dick for help).
Mallory Rickfield- That b***** cheerleader-popular girl that everyone knows won't make it, even though she has the power of numbers and the ability to manipulate any male or power-hungry female on the premises.
Jacob Flask- Mad scientist. Likes playing God. Nuff said.
Jo Thompson- That tag-along chick who looks like a follower, but she will stab you in the back and take your place the first chance she gets.
Terri Williams- She hates life. Never ask her to help you with anything, lest she collapse into a barrage of tearful sobs about how horrible her childhood was and how much she wished she could die.
Matt Matthews- The kid with the monosyllabic first name who loves to pick on, victimiaze, and otherwise harass other people. He admires Mallory Rickfield to the point of idolatry.
Dervish Von- A creepy guy who lives in Australia and enjoys skinning animals alive for his own amusement. For some unfathomable reason he bonds with Terri. Shudder.
Malcolm Stoker- The Goth to Terri's Emo, Malcolm enjoys sweet, soul-touching songs and art. Nobody cares. Get a life. Kiss a girl. DO SOMETHING.
Bill Adderson- A redneck who's seen the likes of the alien before. He's come prepared, and he's gonna show her why the humans were here first and why they're gonna stay.
Johnny Curtis- Tina's boyfriend. He's the big guy, quiet and sweet, but with a nasty tendency to tag along with EVERYTHING.
Tina Roland- Johnny's girlfriend. She is devastated by every tiny little thing, relying on Johnny's sweetness to calm her down. Yeah, she's doomed.
Lance Freeman- A carefree drug addict from the suburbs. He spends most of his time tripping with Mitchell and Bianca.
Mitchell Barstooka- A carefree drug addict from the suburbs. He spends most of his time tripping with Lance and Bianca.
Bianca Kooniart- A carefree drug addict from the suburbs. She spends most of her time tripping with Lance and Mitchell.
Karen Faucett- Zachary's girlfriend, who is prepared to do anything she has to do to please him. She also digs every single other guy there.
Zachary Marx- Karen's boyfriend, who loves it when Karen pleases him. Unlike Karen, he acts on his infatuations with the female inhabitants.
Kyo Shibo- A Japanese dude who has shurikens and Katanas and stuff. He doesn't understand English.
Ricky Slott- A Hard Partier, along with the other five members of the gang who showed up. His girlfriend is Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Poe- A Hard Partier who is more often than not inebriated and thus at Ricky's mercy.
Nick Diamond- A Hard Partier who is in charge of intoxicating the others.
May Flare- A Hard Partier who is Nick's love slave and must bow to his will.
Gwen Watson- A Hard Partier who is particularly abusive and bossy to the other members.
Jeff Patric- The leader of the Hard Partiers, who enjoys making everyone's life absolutely miserable, and doesn't need help.

I Wish I Could Just Jump Straight In, But We Gotta Cover the Basics... (that's what she said)

The story covers the paranormal, supernatural, magical, and horrific things that go on in the New Jersey town of Schadenfreude (cuz Jersey is awesome, snooch to the noonch). The books are as follows:
Book One: Black Mountain
Book Two: Shadows in the Night
Book Three: Whispers
Book Four: Trick or Treat
Book Five: Antiques
Book Six: Of Fangs and Flying
Book Seven: Howling at the Moon
Book Eight: Reptiles
Book Nine: The Apprentice
Book Ten: Ice on the Water
Book Eleven: Ripper
Book Twelve: Penultimate Comeuppance
Book Thirteen: Where the Wild Things Are
There might still be more books to come...

What's Up?

So, I guess this is it. The big one. The one site that you've all been waiting for... YES! It's DJ Loomis's awesome site of awesomeness! Here you will find junk from my life, the stuff that I recommend, as well as chapters from my ongoing series that I hope to get published some day, as well as videos (perhaps).
